Week of April 4th-10th
By now we had our finalized idea of what we wanted our game to look like and consist of. We had started the build and now we needed to come up with our storyline and the items the player would be able to interact with.
We made a google doc with a list of possible endings for the game, this also included the tutorial ending and failed endings. Each ending had a unique plot and a unique set of items that the player had to collect and tasks they had to complete in order to unlock the ending.
For example, one of the endings we came up with involved finding spare parts to fix a car in order to try and get somewhere like a bunker to survive the end of the world. As the game has a time limit of 5 minutes the endings are short and easy enough to achieve. However, if the player fails to collect all items or do all tasks within the 5 minutes they die but will respawn with the items they have already collected so that they can try again.
